The very welcoming Caragol family wants to make your holiday something special: Can Caragol in the Carrerassa de son Duri has fire in its veins and lets not only its shutters but also the rural surroundings glow in a rich orange-red colour. Tall palm trees keep watch here. You can sense a touch of Caribbean nonchalance. The villa could just as easily be in the Dominican Republic. With a lingering scent of fresh citrus fruits in the air, the path leads over the gravel to the villa's own water garden with its 10-metre-long, child-safe pool, where you can make yourself comfortable under coconut umbrellas on the terrace. Your bikini tan will soon be visible. Would you prefer to sit in the shade and watch the goings-on by the pool? The terrace surrounding the house offers cosy lounge areas: from the hammock and rocking chair for reading, the seating area with rattan day beds to the romantic wicker chair duo by the old draw well. Everything is here. You can grill chorizo sausages, peppers, tomatoes and garlic bread in the covered outdoor kitchen and you are sure to find the right wine in the bodegas of Santa Margalida, Petra and Ariany.

Inside you will find maritime shabby chic with a touch of the Caribbean. The large mural will make your holiday seem twice as sweet. The furnishings themselves in Can Caragol seem to say smile. The small chests of drawers in the guest room definitely radiate a broad, infectious smile. Taste the cosiness, says the fireplace in the living room with its semi-circular couch landscape and striped plank table; while the rustic dining table in the back, flanked by partner sideboards, stands next to the doors that lead to the terrace. The spacious kitchen with dishwasher is also in culinary dialogue with the BBQ area outside: imagine grilled steak with crispy lettuce hearts, followed by lemon ice cream? There's no need to worry about the mattress hollows getting too deep after all these delicacies, as the beds in the three inviting bedrooms stand on their own. If you need more room to move, you can simply push them apart. All guests, including the occupant of the extra bed, share the indoor bathroom and the outdoor bathroom (each with a shower). If you're in a hurry or want to swim your first laps in the morning, you can quickly jump under the outdoor shower by the pool and then be ready for the subsequent trip to the beach. And what awaits you there is the largest bathtub in the world!

But if you want to turn your holiday into something that true Mallorca natives or avid beachgoers do, Can Caragol de son Duri gives you the chance to do both. At the Galmés i Ribot wine shop in Santa Margalida, you'll find quaffable drinks and fresh local produce. A few minutes' drive along the occasionally audible Ma-3410 will take you to the bustling coastal town of Can Picafort with its harbour, extra-large sandy beach and promenade. If you drive towards Port dAlcúdia, you will come across 25 kilometres of continuous beach. Playa de Muro, with its white dunes and located right in front of the Albufera Natural Park, is the most beautiful seaside resort on the island. And even if you are in a completely different mood, you should make your way to Son Serra de Marina and don't miss the necropolis of Son Real, a unique Talayotic tomb from the time before Christ.

In a rural and quiet location between Santa Margalida and Can Picafort, you will find the villa of the Caragol family, nestled between palm trees: tranquillity on one side and lively tourism on the other. Supermarkets, pharmacies, restaurants and clubs are therefore in the immediate vicinity. The nearest beaches are only about five minutes away by car: the small Son Baulo or the bay of Alcúdia. Pollença, 25 km away, with its harbour, beach and water park for children, offers culture, art and a picturesque promenade.
