You can explore the unique glacial landscape in Odsherred which has a Geopark. Take a trip to the burial mounds; experience the Ice Age landscape, the Atone Age barrows, the Bronze Age burial mounds, the “Ulkerup souls”, Hempel Glass Museum and Odsherred Museum (which has a sun chariot, found in the former bog of Trundholm Mose). The Näsholm Borg castle is located on the small island in the Nygård Sø Lake between Højby and Nykøbing Sj. The nature school offers many activities like fishing, expeditions in the forest, butterfly safari, troll trail and fox trail. Do visit the Hovvig Nature Reserve, an artificial wet area with rich bird life. The forest of Grønnehaveskoven offers fitness trail. There are also the beautiful Hundwald and the Thorskilde fountain on the meadow lands Kongeengen to visit. Adventurous guests can join a guided tour and dive into the history of the old psychiatric hospital. Hiking enthusiasts can explore one of the three walks: ‘The Sea, the Sand and the Wind’ (16.2 km), ‘The Water of the Birds’ (8 km) or ‘Culture on the Coast’ (7.5 km). Children will love the Fire Museum of Odsherred and also the many fire engines on display or enjoy a seal safari at the harbour of Rørvig. Holidaymakers can also drive to Summerland Zealand, enjoy a boat trip, visit the historic 13th century Dragsholm Castle where the legendary ghosts roam, or drive to the many art galleries of Odsherred. Odsherred offers several golf courses, cosy harbour ambiences and fantastic nature. Do visit the numerous galleries on Odsherred or the cities of Holbæk and Nykøbing Sjælland and the attractive shops and cafes in the vibrant harbour of Rørvig.
